Class descriptions

Vinyasa "Flow"

Vinyasa Yoga is an experience of connecting movement with breath to align mind, body and spirit. Classes are designed around sun salutations to create heat in the body and link postures together in a continuous flow. The practice builds strength, flexibility, and balance. Anyone with moderate mobility can enjoy this invigorating class.

Hatha

This class teaches  body postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), and meditation with the goal of bringing about a sound, healthy body and a clear, peaceful mind. This class is designed for all level students.

Gentle Yoga

Gentle yoga is for anyone looking for a way to relax and unwind, yet increase flexibility. We flow through a series of gentle mindful movements with focus on moment to moment awareness of body and breath. Each class ends with a complete body scan.Everyone can benefit: beginning students, older adults, active people learning to be gentle with their bodies, and for anyone who is seeking a peaceful experience. Gentle Mindful Yoga is considered a formal meditation practice, so If you’ve been wanting to learn to meditate but can’t sit still, this class is the class for you!

Somatics

Somatic Movement Education is a gentle but potent practice. Over time most bodies harbor stress in the form of tight contracted muscles which then become the norm.  When we bring focused attention to the muscles, allowing them to relax with the sensory awareness, change is possible.  Freedom of movement is a self directed initiative learned through a present moment experience.

Ashtanga

Dedicated practice group works on the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga in the tradition of Pattabhi Jois. Ashtanga is a physically demanding practice that offers tremendous opportunity for transformation. Students are recommended to practice consistently

Meditation & Mindful Movement

This class is appropriate for everyone - beginners to 'advanced'. Each class begins with gentle mindful movement (yoga or qigong) and ends with formal mindfulness meditation practices, including sitting meditations, body scan, and walking meditation. Leave feeling focused, relaxed, balanced and calm. Led by Barbra Wolf.

Private Classes

Private classes are a great way to deepen your practice and explore postures that are just right for you. Also a fun idea for bachelorette parties, family reunions, and corporate team building. Classes can be held in our studio, on the beach, or at your residence.
